Portfolio / Scenario Analysis

601 Fairview Avenue.
Testing a concept on the map.

A Beaufort County, North Carolina demonstration showing how site screening, soils, terrain, usable-area review, and a conceptual garage placement can be connected through repeatable QGIS phases.

Project overview

From baseline to conceptual change.

01Initial screening

Parcel and environmental mapping; assess missing sources.

02Terrain, soils and usable-area context

DEM processing, soil records and preliminary constraint layers.

03Footprint scenario

Conceptual garage placement and impervious-area change, with QA checks.

Recorded model example

In one garage scenario, the proposed footprint measured 576 square feet of new impervious area. This is a project-specific QGIS demonstration, not a predicted runoff volume or an approved building plan.

What happens next

Field conditions, building requirements, setbacks, official zoning, utilities, and any drainage design would need appropriate independent verification.

Aerial mapping and site analysis visual

Technical method

Repeatable phases with checkable outputs.

The project used an EPSG:6543 working coordinate reference, layered spatial inputs, QGIS/Python processing, source QC, and documented scenario parameters. Data alignment and building-footprint offsets were explicitly checked.
